October marked the opening of the newly refurbished gymnasium at The Bowfield Hotel and Country Club. Guests and existing members will be visibly impressed with the transformation. As you enter the sports concourse you are welcomed to wide expansive corridors and wall mounted light boxes which display a collection of famous sporting stars and their motivational advice. However, nothing will prepare you for the wow factor of the gymnasium. It has already been said that this is the best Hotel gymnasium in Scotland......frankly we are not surprised.

On entering the gym you will be met by a smiling gym team member. They present me with my complimentary water bottle and my choice of fresh fruit. The tour begins, the instructor's obvious enthusiasm for their new home is very evident. The extensive range of the latest fitness equipment is impressive and what is more so is the attention by the staff. You can choose a number of options on the cardiovascular equipment, everything from a guided session by my virtual coach to creating my own personal programme. Your eyes will be drawn to the functional area.....A mural of Muhammed Ali adorns the wall at the far end of the room, a red punch bag swings gently from an earlier beating. The words in gold next to Ali's magnificent figure read, I hated every minute of training but I said "don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion" The instructor will tell you all about the results you can expect when you train here. There is Wifi within the gym for the busy executive as well as iphone docking and charging stations on the equipment. If you join for the year you will also receive a gym starter kit worth £50. Should you tell your friends about this fantastic facility and they join, then you can all enjoy a meal in the restaurant with £40 off. With family memberships from as little as £106 per month it represents fantastic value for money. With extended opening hours for the creche, there's no reason not to train. There is an absolute wealth of studio classes numbering over 40. The perfect temperature pool, spa, sauna and steam room await when you’ve finished your workout. Wow! Wow! Wow!
